The holiday bazaar experience has been an interesting adventure. I meet lots of nice people, moved outside of my comfort zone. My sales were decent, but not knowing what to expect it was learning curve. In the middle of all this I had a bout of Asthma that I waited too long to treat.
I did take some pictures, will post once he craziness of the holidays calm down. Lots of cool comments about my jewelry from... keep doing what you are doing it is awesome, that I am truly an artist... very cool i Like your creativity. All very exciting to hear what people say about my creations..
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year shall check in with you soon.
Fondly

Well my first attempt at a large scale holiday bazaar was this past Friday and Saturday at St. Rita's Church. Many of the vendors had been their in previous years, I was one of the newbies. The experience was great...meet lots of nice people. Made some sales perhaps not as much as I would have liked, but I was going for the experience and to see what people thought of my jewelry. I was not the only jewelry vendor there, but mine was unique and intriguing. Because of the eco-friendly aspect and the fact that i created my own beads from the scrapbookpaper and fabric. My friends and family stopped by to see me and that felt great to know if supportes who believe in what i do.
I think that turn out could have been better if there was better signage around the streets to point people in the right direction. Nonetheless, many folks said I come here every year. It has been around for a while. I know that other places were holding their bazaars too cause folks would say they made the rounds. Somthing different for me, all in all a good time.
My next venue will be the Bilquist School Bazaar in Milwaukie on Saturday Nov 23rd. I hear that is a big one. So I better get back to the drawing board and create more treasures...
have a great week

Well another beautiful fall morning in Portland... Only 6 days away from the St. Rita's Fall Festival, it has been many years since I have put my treasures in a formal sales opportunity. Most of the time my sales have been by word of mouth. This Bazaar is on Friday 11/8 and Sat 11/9 10029 NE Prescott form 9:am to 4:pm.
Also accepted into the Billquist School Bazaar in Milwaukie on 11/23 10:00am to 4:00pm on that Saturday. I figure why not go all out this year.... down to the final steps of organizing the table display some signage...excited to meet people and have a good time.

It is a lovely fall morning here in Portland, Oregon the air is crisp and the leaves are changing. Life is good, time to reflect on the blessings and talents I have been given in this life. In the early 90's when I stumbled upon beads/jewelry design, I never realized how much apart of my life it would become. Today, some 20 yrs later I am embarking on this journey to put my work outside of my comfort zone. Yesterday, my friend and I worked on ideas for business cards...and how to display my work at an upcoming holiday festival. This is a labor of love and time spent to carry out what is done at home to the public.... I am encouraged.....
